VEVO and NZ Citizens
NCCHC Document Requirements for New Zealand Citizens
What you need to provide before we can submit your Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).
Why these documents are required
To complete and submit an NCCHC to the National Police Checking Service (NSS), we must verify your identity and visa status before submission. If you are a New Zealand citizen, the VEVO record confirming your visa status is required in addition to your passport.
Mandatory documents (NZ citizens)
- New Zealand passport — accepted as the commencement identity document.
- VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online) record — required to verify current visa/entitlement in Australia. This must be supplied before we submit your NCCHC to the NSS.
How to obtain your VEVO record
- Visit the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs VEVO service.
- Enter your New Zealand passport details as requested.
- Save or download the VEVO record (PDF or screenshot) and upload it with your NCCHC application.
Tips to avoid delays
- Have both your NZ passport and VEVO record ready before starting the NCCHC application.
- Ensure the details on the VEVO match your passport exactly.
- If you need help, ask our staff — we can walk you through obtaining and uploading the VEVO record.
